My parents popped by for a little visit this weekend. It was lovely to see them again and to spend some relaxing time together! They brought along our couch and, after four months of “relaxing” on kitchen chairs, our tushes are revelling in the luxury of a comfy couch! But alas, no photos of the couch yet . . .
So instead, here are a few pics of our outdoor excursions.
Walking through some long grass en route to Beaver Creek (the same place we went with Mom and Dad de Haan a few weeks ago, but now armed with a camera battery!). We took along our fog horn, as there have been an inordinate number of bears in the neighbourhood (eating all our plums, rifling through our recycling, etc.) and we often see bear scat along this trail.
There’s a beautiful creek at the end of this trail and we’ve been coming here regularly since we discovered it. The kids love chucking rocks in the river and watching little branches float down the rapids.
This little munchkin loves to see how high she can climb and is so pleased when she makes it up a little ledge!
A pant-less June fishing from shore after going for a wee dip in the creek.
There’s a playground nearby, too. 🙂
We also drove out to Castlegar to check out Zuckerberg Island.
This is the unusual home Mr. Zuckerberg built for his wife and himself many moons ago – complete with a little onion dome!
Chucking a few more rocks in the Columbia River.
